- Just like any other culture/group religion is taken very seriously. 98% of Spain(now 40%) considers themselves Roman Catholic
- Spanish festivals, traditions, and practices are fun and non-Catholics are involved too
- The 1st novel ever written in 1605, was by a Spanish man named Miguel Cervantes.
- Latinos are hardworking, but they also devote time for self care and leisure time, eating, sleeping, and partying way past minight. Therefore, according to a study, Spain has a high life expectancy of 82(of course statistics may have changed though)
- Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language after English
- Lunch and siestas(naps) are the best and/or most important parts of the day.
- Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Texas have 1 million or more Hispanics.
- The term “Hispanic” was first adopted by the United States government in the early 1970’s, and has been used in U.S. population surveys and census ever since.
- September 15,16, and 18 are some of the most important days because those days are the anniversary of the Latin American countries' independences.
- There are 1.1 million Hispanic veterans of the U.S. armed forces.
- Hispanics usually place great value on appearance as a sense of honor, dignity and pride.
