For beginners who are interested in learning Spanish, and those who haven't taken Spanish in middle school, normally, start their journey with the most basic class Spanish 1(Español Uno) . This will be the first and most basic class whwere you learn the simplest beginner level things about the Spanish language. Then for the other three years of their four year pathway, students decide whether to continue with Spanish or not. If you continue most students continue with Spanish 2(Español Dos) , Spanish 3(Español Tres), Spanish 4(Español Cuatro), and lastly, AP Spanish(AP Español). However, since each student would only have four years, Spanish 4 would probably be skipped if they are ready for AP after Spanish 3.
This is intro class to Spanish, where you learn new vocabulary, basic sentence structuring, conjugation of words in the present tense, and other basics of Spanish. This is normally a class students would take their freshman year, but if students have already taken Spanish 1 in middle school, then they take Spanish 2 in their 1st year.

Spanish 2 is the next level. Here you learn more new words, more grammar(past tense, subjunctives), and more about the culture. Some students move onto Spanish 2 Honors from here, but it depends on the student and how they feel about Spanish.

Spanish 3 is the next level. You do/learn the same type of things. You learn more about Spanish and the language, and it is possible, it will help student prepare for AP Spanish if they want to be in AP next year. A class similar to Spanish 3 but will help you for AP, is Spanish 3 Honors. If you want to take AP next year and you feel good about Spanish, you should take Spanish 3 Honors.

AP is the hardest class, and the last class. This is a class where you study and analyze newspapers, films, and articles in Spanish. You practice more and more communication in Spanish. In AP Spanish you are almost like/are a native speaker. Then after the two semesters of this class, you have to take a test to show your knowledge of Spanish.
AP es un muy difícil clase, y el ultimo clase. Esto es un clase donde estudias y analizas periódicos, peliculas, articulos en Español. Tú practicas más y más comunicación en Español.
